In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak,
remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
Acts 20:35
Hannah’s Mission
Our purpose and vision is to improve the health, well being and self-confidence of children and adults with any type of disability and special need by offering them access to the proven therapeutic benefits and the enjoyment provided by horseback riding.
We strive to touch our student's minds, bodies and souls in a creative and nurturing environment.

Welcome to Hannah’s web site! I hope the content gives you a clear picture of who we are and what we do. We continue to grow and are able to serve even more people with special needs in the North Texas and South-Eastern Oklahoma areas.
We were thrilled with the grant we received from the Clara Blackford Smith and W. Aubrey Smith Charitable Foundation. That was definitely very good news. Got turned down for two more grants that we applied for back in December, but that’s they way the process works! Looking for more grant opportunities right now as well as working on other fundraisers and personal appeals.
Thank you to our donor of feed and hay. He wishes to remain anonymous and we so appreciate his generosity. Feed and hay are always welcome and always needed!
Hannah’s summer riding session begins on June 2, so if you, or someone you know can benefit from our program, please call me.
Therapeutic riding works! We sometimes see the side of children that no one else has the benefit of seeing. When I described one of our regular 10-year old riders to his mother as ‘focused, friendly and warm’ she couldn’t believe I was talking about her son. She doesn’t experience that version of Cody very often and we’re encouraging him to take his positive attitude home and helping him work through his anger issues.
And here’s an excerpt of a note we received just last week from Wylie’s mom ... “Wylie is a sweet little boy but has never been able to show affection appropriately, that was until a few weeks ago after a session with his horse Geronimo "Mo", Wylie came up to me and kissed me with intention and then turned to his Daddy and kissed him! At 21 months old Wylie is somewhat of a mystery. Everything we do for him is trial and error. I know that there are many challenges that he will have to face in order to be considered at or near a level to his peers but I have renewed hope that he can overcome and shine.”
And that’s just two examples of why we do what we do at Hannah’s!

Hannah’s Horseshoes of Hope equine-assisted therapy center serves children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities through therapeutic riding. Beyond physical benefits, riders improve their self-esteem, focus and independence while interacting with trained volunteers, expert, professional
instructors and other riders.
We encourage the entire experience, including horse care, the building of a strong relationship between horse and rider and social interaction with other clients. Hannah’s offers a variety of programs including customized sessions for specific organizations and groups.
Founded in 2002 by Janice and Cleayton Mills, Hannah’s is named for their granddaughter, Hannah Sue - daughter of Steve and Joleen Mills - who was born with Down Syndrome.
